Ready, Set, CanO

Over the past three months we’ve partnered with LimeLight sports to help turn off the plastic tap at some unforgettable sporting events nationwide. Having decided there’s only one way to keep race participants hydrated – whilst warming up, on route or at the finish line – CanO Water was there to support every step of the way.

Yes, to some canned water may have seemed strange…but there’s more than meets the eye. By eliminating single-use plastic bottles at the London Triathlon, Blenheim Triathlon, the Hackney Marathon and more…together we have saved more than 72,500 single-use plastic bottles from polluting out environment. Now that’s an achievement if we do say so ourselves.

The energy was extraordinary, community was buzzing, and the sweat was more than real. Co-founders Josh and Ariel witnessed first-hand at the finish line, many partakers’ CanO Water experiences. Out of breath, in a daze or on a high, the CanO Water crew was there to capture every participant reaction as the Co-founders questioned, ‘What’s it like to drink water out of a can?’ ‘Phenomenal’ and ‘refreshing’ were theopular responses *insert smirk here*. Check out all our finish line fun below…

At Blenheim Palace, we definitely brought the banter…alongside the water, obviously! The race participants were WILD. Grabbing as many CanO Waters as they could possibly hold and filling their lyrca pockets with these ‘secret weapons’ of hydration. Drinking water out of a can really had become the norm, and Ariel beautifully drummed home the recyclability of aluminium. Together, we were all helping protect the turtles ‘Woop woop’.

And there was no stopping us. We then took the main stage at Hackney Marathon weekend to turn up the heat and keep the crowds hydrated. @Jolie graced us with her motivation and moves to get the racers rolling. Cans were in hands everywhere, with smiles all round. It was an incredible few days and this phenomenal community most certainly did not bottle it!
